Curriculum

I am currently a permanent lecturer at the Department of Psychobiology at the University of Granada. Prior to this, I have held positions as a post-doctoral researcher and doctoral assistant at the Department of Psychology and as an associate teacher at the Institute for Family Research and Counselling at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
In 2011, I obtained my PhD in psychology with European Doctorate Mention from the University of Granada, specializing in the field of Experimental Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. I have also pursued studies in biomedicine at the University of Bordeaux II (France).
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to engage in pre- and post-doctoral international mobility, conducting interdisciplinary research at renowned research centers such as:
- Behavioural Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of York.
- Eye and Brain Mapping Laboratory at the University of Fribourg.
- Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Luxembourg.
- Laboratory for Neurorehabilitation Science at the University of Fribourg.
- Sensory Analysis Laboratory at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina.
- Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires.
I have actively participated in and led R & D projects at the regional, national, and international levels, financed by public funds (e.g., European Commission, Spanish Ministry and Junta de Andalucía) and private funds (e.g., Swiss Anorexia Nervosa Foundation); playing a key role in advancing research on eating behavior and weight-related problems. These projects have not only allowed me to contribute to the field but have also resulted in additional funded endeavors. As the Principal Investigator (PI), I have secured funding exceeding 1.5 million euros in the last 5 years.
In recognition of my contributions, I have received international awards and grants, including:
- Marie Sklodowska Curie - Athenea3i,
- Swiss-European Mobility Programme,
- Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for Foreign Scholars,
- Ibero-America Young Teachers and Researchers Grant,
- Mobility Grant offered between Andalusian and Latin American Universities,
In recognition of my research excellence, I have been awarded the "Acreditación de Excelencia Investigadora I3" (Accreditation for Research Excellence I3). Likewise, I have the Accreditation for Associate Professor.
